Disappointing

You get what you pay...

Pros: Neighborhood was cool once you crossed the highway, a lot going on in a up-and-coming, gentrified area. Easy access to I-35 and beyond. That's really it.

Cons: The breakfast was non-existent, it had been stopped by management with no explanation. Fine, I wasn't around for it anyway. The property and the room? Dirty in so many different ways: Stains on almost EVERYTHING: comforter, chair, ottoman, seating desk, desk chair, walls, ceiling, etc., "clean" linens that still had hair in them that wasn't mine (also stained), whole panels of wall missing in the bathroom, stains on the shower curtain, NASTY showerhead full of calcium build-up, etc. The biggest complaints I have: I was put into the very first room off of the foyer and immediately adjacent to Housekeeping. This meant that I was stuck listening to very loud conversations between the employees at all hours. As others have said the walls were very thin and sounds traveled entirely too well. Not all of the staff were as friendly as the woman who checked me in: Getting something from my car around 9:30 pm and the desk employee at the time was a man who looked at me like I was the dumbest human being on Earth when I didn't know the entrance door didn't open automatically after a certain time without using your room card. The TV remote only worked about 1/3 of the time and that was after the desk employee went through four of them to find one that sort-of worked. And no, it could not be activated or operated without the remote, I tried repeatedly. The ultimate annoyance: When I made this reservation almost 11 months ago I specifically and clearly asked that Housekeeping NOT take care of my room until after I checked out. I've had items stolen too many times to want or need strangers with sticky fingers around my personal belongings. This was written, approved TWICE, on the reservation, and ignored.

Cons: I did not like the fact that they stop serving breakfast in the morning.

Cons: No elevator to the 2nd floor no breakfast that was advertised Some of the staff was very rude. I requested a smoking room and was told you couldn't smoke anywhere in the building

Pros: Great price for the room Room was clean and spacious

Cons: Staff seems a little to concerned with what’s happening in guest rooms. I understand a sense of vigilance but walking past doors trying to hear what’s going on and watching everyone as they come and go ? These are adults not teenagers. These are not dorms.

Horrible stay and I stay...

Pros: This time there wasn't anything positive to say

Cons: Refused to honor my reservation even with proof of it because I always pay at the property and 6 hours after booking it around 620pm they ran my card as if I was a no show and then charged me more than my reservation price for a run down in need of repair and dirty room with no security lock on my door or smoke detector broken hinges on the furniture broken towel rack torn furniture. Then banged at 8 am tell me checkout!

Pros: The gentleman there at night was extremely helpful. He was very kind when I checked in. The bed was beyond comfortable. The mattress was amazing :) Great water pressure for shower. The room smelled so nice and was very clean.

Cons: No breakfast served. I prefer a place with yogurt or pastry. I also like a checkout time of noon. Those are just preferences. The kindness of the workers was better than those things.

Pros: Nothing…I literally don’t know how any of these “good reviews” are the same place I was at unless the second floor is a magical difference.

Cons: I had an early flight so I was only there to be close to airport. I was assigned a room on first floor when I checked in pretty late 10:30pm (I had called ahead to let them know). Upon arrival there’s a guy in a cussing match on Bluetooth that anyone in a couple hundred yards could hear…ok not their fault.. The reception area was a red flag when I seen some obvious drug users chilling on the couches…ok get to our room & move on.. it’s late. We attempt sleeping but with the large gap you can hear every door opening and closing, people talking ALL night. We’re all laying in bed looking at each other like what kind of Alice in Methland have I booked us into. Then we attempt to go to bathroom for the first time and the toilet is clogged up.. I go to front desk.. the guy brings a plunger wrapped in a trash bag and tries to hand it to me to take care of…I was like oh no sir I’m not doing that we haven’t even used the bathroom yet. He says it’s not his job. I said ok can you call maintenance then. He says there’s no one there until 10am if I recall correctly..I said well we need a toilet or a different room. He decided to give it a go…gagging the whole way and there’s nothing visible in the toilet to gag on except some white toilet paper which he scoops into the trash can next to the toilet.. plunges says it’s fixed..I flush and show it’s still filling up almost to rim.. he said it’s fixed and leaves.. it wasn’t & we gave up hoping everyone could hold it till we left. Also the general bathroom by check in is “out of service”. The side door by the pool that’s supposed to stay locked at night is not. HUGE safety concern considering where you’re at. Getting into the parking lot is under construction and if you have any kind of low profile car getting in it’s going to be a no go for ya. The back side is connected to Motel 6 and you do not want to park back there.

Exceeded our expectations

Pros: This was just perfect for us. We were driving to Galveston and needed to stop halfway. And we wanted to see meow wolf. The hotels all seemed expensive and this was the cheapest one. We weren't sure how it would be but it was fantastic and we would stay there again. The bed was super comfortable. Just because it's inexpensive doesn't mean it's not good.

Cons: There was construction near it that caused a little bit of mud and rerouting. But not to any great extent.

Cons: I tried to book in another time and they didn’t let me stay they gave me no explanation and they just left me at night with no place to sleep I was tired so I had to find another place to stay.
