About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

Pros: My room was spotless.

Cons: Seems as though this is also a boarding house, and there were plenty of unsavory characters around. Never felt really safe. There was a lot of outside noise at all times of night which made sleeping tough.

Pros: The waffles and cereal they had available in the morning was my favorite part.

Cons: The room had little and very poor lighting. There were cockroaches and the person at the front desk was never available. He had us waiting for a while anytime we needed to reach him and then when he finally showed up, his demeanor was very unwelcoming.

Cons: We checked in, there were two men who were hitting on us and kept complimenting us which made us uncomfortable. The hotel bathrooms have no lock, nasty appliances, heater broken, sheets very thin, tv wasnt working. People arguing around. DO NOT STAY.

Pros: Very inexpensive option, and close to the destination where we were seeing an event. The room also had a full kitchenette, which was a nice surprise.

Cons: Toilet clogged, TV did not work when we arrived, had to go the "night check in" which was confusing, the clerk tried to charge a $5/night parking fee - I showed her on my phone priceline says free parking, no towels at pool they did not allow room towels.

Pros: Good price for a concert on Snapdragon Stadium

Cons: We got a handicapped room, (which is not bad) but the water of the shower was running into the room, water was just warm. A lady tried to open our door at 5 am, because they didnt marked the check in right. It was not a bad experience just a little uncomfortable

Pros: Location of room & elevator & garage & elevator. Great shower, refrigerator.

Cons: Room , bathroom, & kitchenette very clean. The 3 lamps had only 2 extremely dusty lampshades & no paper plates or utensils in kitchen. 1pkg coffee (for a 5 night stay!!!) No front desk/housekeeping phone#'s, no channel description list...only #'s! 1 extra roll of toilet paper (again for 5 nights!) And, REALLY, parking fees every day!!
