About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    Cons: Yes, no vending machines. Lamp was broken when we arrived and I had the front desk come in to see it. Checking out was told that the housekeeping said the lamp was fine the day before. The only person working at the front desk said she would have to talk

    Pros: The gentleman who staffed the hotel was very gracious and attentive. Hes really the only good thing about this hotel.
    Cons: This hotel is NOT worth $---night. Its a $79 hotel at best. Behind the beds were dirty. The a/c was loud and we would get hot then cold then hot. TVs were fuzzy on certain channels. Wont stay here again and do not recommend.

    Pros: Two TVs! A marriage saver! Standard size TV in bedroom, large screen TV in adjacent room with couch.
    Cons: Our room #107 had the hot and cold switched at the sink. Could cause accidental burn. Reported it so maybe fixed now. Ice machine not working.

    Cons: The individual working the night shift when we checked in was very rude. We also needed sheets and pillows for the pull out couch for our children and they did not have any available. It was also very hard to get the night worker to come out and give them to us. He seemed very put out by our request which couldve been avoided altogether if the linens and pillows had just been provided in the room.

    Pros: Beautifully decorated (very surprised at the nice hill country decor) & the suite was much bigger than expected with a small living area with tv, nice sized bathroom, and large bedroom area with another tv. The bed was one of the best I've hadf!
    Cons: Were told at check in that breakfast would be open at 6:30. Went at 7:00 & had to wake up the manager - it wasn't ready. That was Sun am so ok, but wish we'd been told prior. FYI there's nothing in Llano besides Stripes on a Sun am, but good tacos!
