About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

Pros: Nothing. The lady at the front desk was very rude. She belittled me. And then called the police on my friend, who out their credit card on file for incidentals, just to get $250 from them. The lady at the front desk was the rudest person I have ever met.

Cons: Everything. It was a high drug trafficking hotel. Not the kind of place I would ever stay at had I known.

Pros: It had a far better mattress and linens than most hotels in a similar price category.

Cons: A desk clerk harshly insisted that I had to agree to a $500 credit card hold or I could not check in and would loose the prepaid reservation. I was forced to agree to the terms. In the evening, another staff member said it was only $50, over and over.

Pros: The staff made me feel welcome. I love them! The like the area and that part of the city.

Cons: The prices and the breakfast. There should be fresher coffee in the lobby. However, I didn't like not severing water but selling bottle instead.

Cons: As soon as I walked in, the hotel felt and looked dirty and in need for many repairs. The first room I went to when I sat on the bed it started to flip over. the drapes where torn. The second room again the drapes were torn the floor in the bathroom was dirty. The couch was torn up at the base like a dog chewed it. You say you are a pet free hotel, I saw a family walking their dog out of the elevator. I am very disappointment in the quality of this hotel. In fact after feeling very uncomfortable I left around 5:30 to 6 pm, and went to a clean and hotel that felt safe.

A short walk to Dry Creek light rail station and close to Target and other restaurants. Needs more USB charging ports.

Pros: I like leaving the property, I liked not paying a deposit, I mean one time they gave me a room with a broken bed, then sent me to another property, that property didn't have breakfast, charged me a deposit and was sketchy af

Interesting experience with older building.

Pros: Was adequate for the stay. Beds were good. Amenities in room good.

Cons: Room in very poor repair. Holes and blatant patches all over the room. Carpets stained and loaded with globs of goo that had been there for who knows how long. Plumbing (toilet) constantly plugging. Building in sad shape. Wondered if we were going to get trapped in elevator each time used.
