About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    Pros: Nothing. For the price they charge this is horrible.
    Cons: The towers were not clean. The bathroom dilapidated. The sink clogged. For the occupancy the shampoo et al were not sufficient. The floor was dirty. The location was horrible. Too much of sound from the road and it was a totally disturbed sleep.

    Decent stay, good for a "basecamp"

    Pros: Rooms were clean, staff was helpful. Relatively quiet during the evenings.
    Cons: Room had some structural issues and there is a bit of construction going on in and around the property.

    Pros: Night staff was rude. No room for parking with a truck and trailer like advertised. Had to park on the outside back street room was on front side of building top floor. With two small children in the dark I wasnt doing all that. Just left and didnt even use the room.

    Will not be back to Days Inn.

    Pros: Ease of scheduling through the internet
    Cons: Reprimanded by agent for not scheduling by 8 am due to Oktoberfest. We were travelers. Roach carcus in room. Could not dead bolt the door. Little seating. Mexican restaurant part of property.

    Pros: Way overpriced. The next night down the road was half the price. Tub very slow to drain so always standing in water. All down the hand rail on stairs was very sticky. Communicating with lobby was very difficult. Room not as clean as expected for 135 dollars. Very disappointing. I have used Booking.com before and was pleased, but with clients such as these I question whether to use you again.

    Pleasant and comfortable.

    Pros: Excellent location. For the price and style the noise from other rooms was more quiet than many 4 places Ive stayed. Everything worked in the room. Towels were typical. Water was hot. Sheets were clean. Coffee maker was clean.
