About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    Cons: The furnishings were were old tears in the lampshade tears in the bed skirts it really has gone downhill as far as the days in and the breakfast was very marginal will not be staying at that hotel again.

    Pros: Location is good, right by the airport
    Cons: Had to pay to leave car during trip, this is not how the other hotels in the area run, and wasn't clear in the booking. No elevator -we had to drag our bags to the second floor up the stairs. Asked for a room on the first floor and was told no Room was dingy, cigarette holes in the window bench cushion.

    Would not stay here again.

    Pros: Location is good, right by the airport
    Cons: Had to pay to leave car during trip, this is not how the other hotels in the area run, and wasn't clear in the booking. No elevator -we had to drag our bags to the second floor up the stairs. Asked for a room on the first floor and was told no Room was dingy, cigarette holes in the window bench cushion.

    Pros: The beds were very comfortable.
    Cons: The breakfast was very below average. The options they had were not appealing at all. The toilet in the room had a crack in it and was leaking. The table in the room had edge stripping taken off. The shower needed some help. The shower handle was broken

    Pros: The staff was friendly and it was clean
    Cons: maintenance had not been kept up. It looked like new flooring in the hall and paint but the bathroom faucet leaked, the ice machine upstairs did not work, there was no fridge or microwave in room, rooms are very,very small. and there is no elevator.

    Pros: The location was convenient.
    Cons: Lobby looked average- but the room was horrible!! There was what appeared to be feces on the floor next to the toilet, hair in the shower tub, hair and dirt on the floor, sheets had been changed though. Attempted to clean it- didnt help! Stay away!!!

    Disappointing

    I was just disappointed. I dont think Ill be staying at a days inn again.

    Pros: Offered free shuttle to the airport.
    Cons: Charge $2 for shuttle, and when requested the earliest shuttle option 2 days in advance. Somehow was not out on the list. No longer given the time frame needed to make my flight. I ended up getting a Lyft for $27 more. I stayed at this hotel for that specifically. Also, the bed was the roughest mattress Ive ever slept on. The chair in the room felt like it could cave in at any moment. Sheets werent exactly clean either.

    Pros: The location to the airport was decent. Unfortunately the advertised shuttle service did not happen. Yes they have a shuttle but do not have reliable staff to drive it.
    Cons: Shuttle service to airport was pre booked- driver did not show. Had valuable items stolen from hotel. Management would not apologize or even acknowledge either of these problems. Sketchy people working and living in hotel. Horrible breakfast. Dirty.

    Pros: Continental breakfast was minimal. Not everyone wants a waffel w sugary syrup, or sugar filled cereal, the eggs were small little rounds or reconstituted egg product. No cheese or nuts or fruit was available. We ate elsewhere the second day.
    Cons: The rooms need a full remodel. Staying here is like walking back to 1980. More USB ports and streaming options.

    Disappointing

    Disappointing

    Pros: Staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful.
    Cons: We paid extra to have two twin beds in out room. It was discoverd after we got all settled and unpacked for the night that one of the beds was not useable/broken. When we asked for the price difference to be refunded for the extra bed we were not going to be able to use, they said they couldn't help us. I had to email the manager. Seems like if you offer something and cant deliver it you should be able to refund it.
