About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    Pros: Location convenience and staff was friendly
    Cons: Pool was green looking, someone had puked on the edge of the pool sometime before we had got there Thursday we seen it there Thursday night and when we got up the next morning to go back to the pool it was still there I had to call down to the office to get them to come down to clean it!!!!!! hot tub was broke by the second day we were there!!! The sauna did not work an as far as breakfast the only hot food they had was sausage for both days no eggs no potatoes to go with it nothing like that, besides toast and cereal some breakfast bars some fruit yogurt and milk plus juice n coffee.

    Staff was friendly but complex...

    Pros: Location to casino was close and easy to get to.
    Cons: Run down, old, not what I would typically think of a days inn. The room smelled so bad like old smoke and nasty air freshener trying to cover the smell. Bed was not comfortable at all. Breakfast was cold sausage and sausage gravy. Cereal, break, apples and bananas. Went to iHop instead.

    Good basic lodging for the...

    Pros: Complimentary breakfast, sausage gravy and biscuits but no eggs, pool was nice. Eric at the front desk was very accommodating and friendly.
    Cons: Facility could use a little freshening. Rooms could use an easy chair for reading etc in addition to the desk chairs. There was a space for one next to the bed but was missing in multiple rooms.

    Horrible

    Pros: The staff was nice but my stay was horrible. I was told it would be this price online $97.00 then when I go to check in and they wouldn't give me the room for that the $97 like booking.com quoted mr. They charged me double. The facility needs a upgrade. It's dirty and the keys to get into the building didn't work and we were freezing outside four different times fix your doors
    Cons: Everything it was a horrible experience for us .
