About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

Cons: The manager he kept harassing me and yelling at me and making me cry and kept on overcharging me making me book things and over charging me I needed dollars with me and $300 in the same day so I give them $600 in one day and then come on yelling at me coming to my room yelling selling music on call the police on me if I didn't pay right away give me 20 seconds on time I went to the office and I told the lady I was going to get my money then he came knocking on the door yelling at me and when I was always yelling at me again threatening me telling you can call the police and I said he was harassing me but it seemed like the whole staff is scared of them too telling me to payat me too right now I'm in the hospital heart problems because he ran my anxiety up and called me to have a bad heart I went by ambulance from the hotel but thanks to God I'll be okay.

Terror at the Days Inn

Pros: The 1st room we were assigned had a droplet of blood on a blanket and hair on top of the toilet seat. I immediately changed rooms. We loved the private suite in the 2nd room. We wish there was a TV included, though. The space was decently clean. We loved the amenities included. Microwave, refrigerator. The worst part of our stay was the flooded shower. It flooded out into the living area space. It was very uncomfortable for the rest of our stay.

Cons: Flooded bathroom and being inconvenienced.
