Pros: Always like staying here, it's a pleasant hotel with friendly, attentive staff and is often in a good location for me in terms gigs/nightlife. Breakfast was nice with plenty of options and food at the Garden bar is also good.

Cons: Normally I'm ok with the rooms being on the small side but as me and my partner were staying for 4 nights we did start to notice it. After the 2nd night the bed felt a bit uncomfortable too but that is probably more about craving home comforts are a few days of gigs.

Pros: My first room was a large one

Cons: It's nice to be offered a large room, but it was mid winter and the heating wasnt working, so I went back down to reception and requested another room. They suggested i might like to take up a small fan heater, but I pointed out that a heater that size would take a long time to heat such a big room. They seemed to think I was being difficult (I wasn't, I was polite and tried to be understanding that sometimes heaters in rooms dont work). I was cold, I was there for an event that started early next day, and Id driven 5 hours and wanted to go to bed early (asap). I wasnt being difficult, I just wanted to get warm and go to sleep, so I requested another room again. Only a small room was available (which did seem odd, as on the booking app rooms were available for the night...), which at the time was fine heat wise, radiator was working and it heated up quickly. BUT it was alongside the courtyard shared with Uni accommodation, and there were fireworks and a party in the courtyard until 2.00am. I was there to attend an event, and the staff seemed to know about the party event in the courtyard when i mentioned it in passing checking out, so why put me in a room that meant I wouldnt sleep until 2.00am and had to be up for an event starting at 8.00am?

Cons: Cleanliness was non-existent!!! In the first room we were welcomed by a dried poo on the toilet seat (see pics). Room was changed but new one still not clean, we wiped it all with clinell wipes ourselves. Lots of dust and dried stains everywhere. Armchair with worn out fake leather, dirty spots on the walls messy trunking all around the room. Shower curtain smelled with moist and fungus. One small hanger for towels which were never dry due to lack of air movement in the bathroom. Very noisy guests during the night, multiple attempts to get into our room overnight which was disturbing. Wifi very patchy and unstable.

Pros: Clean bed and towels. Staff friendly and easy check in. Great location

Cons: Very compact. Went to the bar when we 1st got there and the table was dirty and a few still had empty plates on them even when the bar was empty. Dirty glass and the window sills and around the edges of the floor were filthy. Put us off drinking/eating in there, so went into the city instead. Also, the curtains in our room were splattered with something and when we looked out the window there were a pair of dirty underwear on the roof outside.

Superb

Pros: About 10 minutes walk from the train station, hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Very good value with a breakfast included.
