    Effingham park needs improvement...wouldn't recommend!

    Pros: The location itself was nice.
    Cons: Was initially supposed to stay for 4 nights...but after 2 days was told that the hotel had been allocated as a mandatory quarantine hotel and we had to leave and was offered an unsuitable alternative. Filled out a breakfast booking form for breakfast to our room the next day...we had to go downstairs the next morning to prompt them as they read 2 booking forms wrong! Staff weren't helpful at all. Was told the gym would be open....it wasnt! Wasnt told about the renovations works that was taking place.

    Excellent facilities and situation spolled...

    Pros: Nicole gave excellent service to us. Lovely grounds and golf course.
    Cons: Breakfast 2nd day was over cooked. People complained about it. The room wasn't cleaned and rubbish bins were not emptied at all.

    We will never stay in...

    Pros: Food ok but service was given by untrained staff and therefore poor.
    Cons: The complete hotel was very tired and in serious need of refurbishment. We downgraded to a standard room from a club room which at least was clean and useable. The club room was a disgrace, in poor state of cleanliness old and tatty furniture and a bathroom that was old, stained, and the toilet would not flush properly. The balcony was filthy and unusable and table on it was falling apart.

    Cons: I stayed in room 101 the fact that there had been a lockdown the hotel should have been in a pristine condition, the patio windows were covered in mud from blocked gutters the patio was full of weeds

    A very disappointing stay. Much...

    Pros: Large room with nice balcony. Comfortable bed.
    Cons: Breakfast service very slow and disorganised despite preordering the previous day. Waiters mask did not fit properly so posing an infection risk to customers. No-one offered to clean our room during our 7 night stay! By day 5 we had to ask for clean towels and toilet rolls. We only received one bath towel despite asking for another and had to ask again for toilet rolls. We asked for the lift to be cleaned as there were paint flakes on the floor which were there for at least 3 days . Surely this is one of the most important areas to be cleaned frequently. Not covid safe! I understand that these times are difficult but as customers who have been shielding this was not the relaxing break we hoped for.

    Cons: Slow clearing of old food in corridors. Clearly very few guests in a massive hotel, only place with availability......says it all really.
