Enjoyed our 9 day stay in this small boutique hotel which was very much as described.

Pros: Breakfast very good. Dinner in restaurant was excellent Pool area was very nice Hotel staff very nice and helpful

Cons: Traffic noise was, as warned, noisy Lack of sidewalks along road to beach was problematic

This hotel is pure paradise.

Pros: The only way to describe this hotel is paradise. A beautiful and peaceful setting, made magical by all the surrounding wildlife that come to visit. We had beautiful birds to watch during breakfast, along with monkeys that passed through and enjoyed the trees around the hotel, and iguanas that wandered around. We had a choice of breakfast everyday, which was superb - delicious and cooked fresh, along with a plate of fruit and unlimited tea / coffee and fresh fruit juice. We did eat in the Papaya Restaurant on the Saturday night too - as they had live music on (I think most Tuesdays and Saturdays) - the food menu was great, loads of choices (even as a vegetarian), cooked fresh. The guacamole is a must-try!! Best and freshest guac I have ever tried. The music was incredible too - they had booked a local guitar player who was so talented, it wasn't just 'background music' but a true performance and we loved every second! The general vibe at this hotel is great, we spoke to all the guests and everybody there was just so friendly. We were extremely sad to leave after just 4 nights, we felt so at home here. This was our first visit to Costa Rica from the UK, and this hotel gave us the full Costa Rican experience and more. Blown away!

Paradise with amazing food near beautiful beaches great value

Pros: I absolutely loved our stay here. Sad we only stayed two nights. My husband and friends all loved it, too. The food was absolutely delicious; the staff are lovely, especially Donal. Extremely clean rooms simple but equipped with everything you need. crisp clean sheets and a comfortable bed. The fridge in the room is handy, too.

Cons: Honestly, I can't fault this place. It's a mini paradise. Don't go for chain hotels. This is where it's at.

Cute hotel

Pros: Enjoyed our stay at this very cute hotel, friendly staff and good facilities. Gorgeous gardens with plenty of wildlife including birds, iguanas and howler monkeys. 10 min stroll to Brasilito beach and another 10 to Playa Conchal, both nice but better beaches in the surrounding area

Pros: Home from home. The staff were super attentive and enhanced our stay. Donald in particular couldnt do enough to ensure our stay was the best. Also was delighted to show us monkeys in the trees across from the restaurant area! The room was spacious and super clean and air on was efficient and quiet.

Wonderful Papagaya staff and tropical setting, but far too noisy.

Pros: The most appealing aspects were the tropical courtyard with its comical iguanas, the outstanding breakfasts, and the amazing staff named Donald. Donald pays close attention to customers needs, and provides kind, professional Pura Vida service. Saturday nights live entertainment, guitarist Tony Puttaggio, was also impressive. Papagaya restaurant has excellent food and a friendly vibe. Reception booked a Panache Catamaran Sunset cruise at my request. That trip was awesome.

Cons: The main downside of Hotel Conchal was that my room (#7) backed up to an extremely noisy road. Definitely not peaceful. I would not recommend this location if youre a light sleeper. I also wouldnt stay here if youre a solo female traveler without a car. The 15-minute walk to the pier was fairly dangerous, day or night. To manage expectations, the pool is mainly for kids and lounging; its too small to swim.

Pros: The pool area made for an oasis type setting and it was an easy walk to Playa Conchal.

Wonderful place to start our trip.

Pros: The room was a perfect fit for two people. We especially liked the bed. The balcony was small but enough to do some yoga. Cheerful and kind staff. Very nice to have access to free cold drinking water , coffee, and hot water for tea in the restaurant. 10 minute walk to Brasilito beach and then another 15 walk along Brasilito beach to the beautiful Conchal beach. Supermarket was a 5 minute walk. Easy place to start because its close enough from LIR.

Pros: Good location only a few minutes walk from the beach. Really friendly staff. Good cocktails and tasty food. Overall great ambiente- one always liked to come "home" from the beach.
