I would defiant go back and stay there again for sure I felt pampered and relaxed and safe!

Pros: Location, great location! I have stayed here almost 20 years, James Remes, excellent host and owner! His staff was exceptional, service was exceptional! Never had problems resolving mechanical issues! James had a full time person who served as gardener, house maintenance and other jobs! The Housekeeping was well managed with room service every day! Exceptional, friendly, honest, and almost like family! Bar and bartenders were exceptional! No problems with making beverages including alcohol! Bi-lingual and some managers who worked for James, many languages like German and French!

Cons: The Hotel is under New Management! Julio who doesnt seem to maintain excellence in Quality service, hired Waitresses named Tiffany who forgets simple things like bringing leche and cafe! Has to be asked again! Very slow service and doesnt serve pancakes with American BF! Has to go back and reorder! Bartenders dont how to make drinks except Marcello! Excellent! Day reception, Marilyn was kind, considerate! Alehandro was great! Chris was good! Julio controls everything! Housekeeping 1 time every 2 days! Floors dirty, black soles of feet! Superior Room with patio! Screen door off hinges laying outside on patio! Pool used to be partially heated. Has solar roof panels, not working! I was shocked at condition of hotel! No longer exceptional! Several old customers I know were here for years wont come back! Julio asked me to cancel my last two days of booking to save NOT having to pay booking commission! Treated me poorly, tried to charge me for small cafe dispenser! I unit for 1 cup of cafe! In summery! Julio told another guest, Joey from San Jose, CA that he would fix door, lied! Moved Joey to another room And charged Joey a higher price for room! Joey canceled rest of stay! And moved to better hotel! Poor service too! I dont recommend this place any more! Pros: Breakfast was amazing. Pool area was great. Fun lighting. Owner was very kind and attentive.

Cons: The bed was not very comfortable. I could not figure out how to turn on the shower.

Pros: The pool and dining area was very nice. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious.

Cons: The room left much to be desired. Wires coming out of the walls, stains on the walls and the sheets. The shower head had strange pressure and shot everywhere. The door to my room was made of glass and had a flimsy lock - did not feel safe. Overall, the rooms need some work and some serious upkeep.

Pros: Very lovely hotel. The staff is very sweet and help you with everything you need. The food is great. If you have the time. Get a massage. The massage therapist is very good. The hotel is very place to chill and relax at the beginning or end or your round trip thru Costa Rica.

Good choice for a short overnight stay before taking an early flight, and hopefully getting in some pool time.

Great little boutique hotel, getting better all the time

Pros: This is usually my go to hotel in San Jose. Staff are friendly, the hotel surrounds a pool. The bar and restaurant are on site and once youve been here a couple of times everyone knows you by name. The hotel is going through some changes right now, but the staff go out of their way to minimize inconvenience to the guests.

Cons: Room was very old, odd layout with small step up to bathroom. Door was difficult to lock and lock was falling out of the door. Linens were clean, but stained and had cigarette holes. Towels were thread bare. Bar ran out of alcohol and restaurant was closed. The 3rd new owners in 3 years and nothing seems to get fixed/upgraded. The bar/lobby area is in need of new flooring. This property is very run down.

Great boutique hotel

Pros: Nice room, great staff and atmosphere. I was made to feel right at home. New owners, making improvements looking forward to seeing whether they do. Bar tender and chef are great. Its low season, and it was great to sit outside under shelter watching it rain and reading a book . I love this place.
