Cons: This property is advertised as a 4 star hotel - that is like stating that McDonalds is fine dining. The photo's advertising the property are clearly not up to date as this place is old, mouldy, run down and broken. The room in itself had absolute basic provisions i.e. a bed, however no personality or redeeming features and as a whole had a really funky smell. The bathroom is dangerous as the bath is that high you are at risk of slipping to get in and out which is evident with the fact that the towel holder is used as a handle and has been broken. This is all as long as you have not scolded yourself with the water that alternates from burning to freezing at will and pretty much sprays at the wall. The power points at the side of the bed do not work and the light switches work when they feel like it. In the hall way the lights flick off when the elevator arrives which is very disconcerting. As far as the grounds go they are completely unmaintained and depressing. We decided to risk breakfast on our first morning which cost us $30 AUD which was a mistake that we did not repeat. The 'hot' food was not kept in a warmer and was a choice of something unidentifiable and green, a watery grainy what I think was porridge and cold stale pastries. You could also toast your own bread if this appealed to you. We asked for a coffee which eventually arrived luke warm and powdered along with a plastic spoon - very 4 star!! Whilst the reception staff were actually pleasant and helpful, they unfortunately did not make up for the surly wait/bar staff who clearly did not wish to be there.

Pros: Room service is very efficient and the staff is on the whole very nice. Good location.

Cons: Very old and run down indeed. Breakfasts are all the same every day and you have to ask for every single thing such as a bowl or a glass. There was no kettle in the room, not even water. Disappointing.

Pros: Great location by the ocean, close to many cafes and shops at Anfa Place mall. Spacious gardens, good spa and good coffee shop adjacent to the hotel. Excellent bedding and very clean overall.
