Wow : I DID NOT expect this

Pros: We didnt like much but I would say the room was an OK size (although from the online description I expected a bigger room so perhaps should have checked the dimensions). The inner courtyard was quite pretty and there was parking available.

Cons: We were sent a message informing us a stress free & private environment, we are now an invisible service hotel which suggests this is for the comfort and enjoyment of the clientele but actually means there is no personnel and NO SERVICE in fact its a do it yourself vacation. This is the most expensive hotel to stay in the area, I expected more, even a little luxury so I would say the price to quality ratio is way out of line. The room was just passably clean when we arrived but theres no cleaning available during your stay : so hope you all like making your own beds and room & bathroom cleaning for the $765 charged on a 2 night stay! Breakfast delivered outside your door each morning consisted of a frozen croissant with jam & spread, some watermelon ,small juice, small yoghurt (forget requesting an early nibble it begins at 08.00) 2 coffee and 2 tea sachets are supplied for your first day, these are not replenished: after that youre on your own unless you want to spend $17 for the house coffee packet left conveniently in your room! The back yard was supposed to provide a private place to lie out or sit - it was a small shell of a yard which opened onto the desert , it was grubby and the sun beds unusable (see below) - the gate had no security lock which meant we had to lock our interior room door in the night. Lastly although a pleasant group of rooms the proximity to the busiest road in the area makes sleeping with windows open a problem : traffic runs intermittently all night gathering up speed around 06.00 till around 21.00. Although booked with Booking the hotel made me make a $10 international call to verify details because theres no check in staff to take more info at check in!!!

Elegant Lodging in Borrego Springs

Pros: This Inn has a terrific location with great mountain views and very well-kept grounds. The room was spacious and clean, and I really enjoyed the private outdoor seating areas. I especially appreciated the adults-only feature as this provided a quiet and relaxing environment. The continental breakfast delivered to the room was convenient and tasty.

Cons: While the continental breakfast was tasty, it appears that it is the same menu every day. For a 2-day stay this wasn't a big problem, but a little variety would be nice (especially given the lodging price point). Also, the TV was quite small given the size of the room which made viewing it from the chair and bed somewhat difficult.

Pros: The location, setting and decor is simply wonderful, and the small breakfast in the morning is a lovely treat, as was the lit fireplace outside.

Cons: We have come to this hotel many times over the years, but this was the first time after management / ownership change and without any dedicated reception staff. Unfortunately the price seems too high for what you get: rooms need a maintenance touchup (paint, grout), and the HVAC system is so loud, it feels like a rocket is going off right above your head every time it kicks in. We had to turn it off for the night to get some sleep. Cleaning staff needs to have more attention to detail.

Convenient location, attractive facility

Pros: Convenient location--we were close to town and the entrance to the state park. We had a beautiful view of the surrounding desert.

Cons: There was no staff available on site. We could contact someone by text message or a phone call, but it's not the same as having on hand. Also, our room could have used a counter top in the bathroom--there was just a pedestal sink with no place to put toiletries, etc.

The hotel has seen better days, and was overpriced for what you get.

Cons: Wifi went out for a day, and I got no response from the remote management. The breakfast was disappointing.

Pros: We loved the private patio with a small table & chairs and the fireplace. Enjoyed the heated outside pool & hot tub. Loved the rustic design and vibe, beautiful location. Peace and quiet. Light breakfast delivered to room. Easy access to Anza Borrego State Park.

Cons: The queen room with fireplace has one chair and stool. Both are very minimal and uncomfortable. There is nowhere to relax other than on the bed. Bed is somewhat comfortable and could be a little softer. A few small improvements could have increased the value for money to excellent. Perhaps Booking.com could accommodate or advise customers of the contactless, check-in procedure.

A great place to stay in Borrego Springs for a mini-vacation!

Pros: Despite arriving just after strong windstorms and during an electrical blackout of the whole city of Borrego Springs, my wife Nancy and I had a great visit! We loved the Southwest styling of the facility, the clear night sky from our patio, the nice cozy and warm fireplace in our room, and the great breakfast served up for us and delivered to our room. During the brief electrical outage, we were also very happy to find our room came with its own charged electrical lantern!

Cons: We were sorry that the pools and hot tubs weren't operable during our visit, but we totally understood due to the windstorm and electrical outage the area experienced for the first few hours of our visit. While we were offered the opportunity to reschedule our visit, we are glad we decided to stay...we had a great time with our Borrego Valley Inn adventure!

Pros: Privacy, sunlight inside the room, comfort bed. The fireplace is good, but I think it gave me a headache. Courtyard gardens and fountain.fireplace in lobby and outside didn't work. It would be nice to sit outside and not get a headache.

Cons: Outside Fireplace didn't work. I liked the Pendleton woolen blanket. Can you sell me one. I cannot find it in market?
