Best Western Plus founded by M.K. Guertin started in 1946 and began as an informal channel between the properties and the guests or travelers. Guertin with over 23 years of experience in the lodging and accommodation business started this “guest referral system” mainly through phone calls from his office to the that of the property. By 1962, Best Western Plus became the first ever hotel reservation covering the entire United States.

A year after, the Best Western Plus became the largest motel industry in the nation with 699 properties and 35,201 rooms under its management. Membership loyalty programs became a “thing” during the late 1980s for most hotels operating in the Americas. Best Western Plus launched its Gold Crown Club International Program and acquired 200,000 members the same year and with sales of more than $40 million.

Best Western Plus continued its expansion and reaches places like Greece, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana. BY 2015, a new master band logo was introduced, giving it a more modern and polished look, intended for the upper midscale market. At present, there are over 4500 privately owned hotels in 100 countries and territories working under the Best Western Plus brand.

    Lovely overnight stop

    Pros: The staff make this place and is why we returned this trip. They are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. Very clean hotel. Parking is secure. Short walk to Christmas markets. Really enjoyed our stay again will be returning next year

    Pros: Receptionist who checked me in and helped me on the afternoon I arrived was wonderful! Garage/parking was great. Comfy room and great shower. Very quiet; even with a room overlooking the street, the room was quiet.
    Cons: Was totally ignored in the morning by the morning receptionist; no greeting and didn't even look up when I checked out; was too busy chatting to a colleague. Breakfast was disappointing....

The walk into the main part of tourist Limoges is straightforward, albeit gently uphill. The area is a bit down at heel, but then I rather got that impression of Limoges as a whole. Still, as I was only passing through, and stayed only one night, it suited my purposes.
    Cons: Usual gripe - poor water pressure in the shower. I'm not a fan of showering in baths, but I do understand that plenty of establishments wish to offer a cost-effective choice, so not having a separate shower cubicle is not necessarily a negative, but if you struggle with access, then do appreciate you would need to step into the bath to shower (at least in my room). The door from the bathroom to the bedroom was frosted glass, which wasn't a problem, but became a problem in the morning when the sun came up, since the shutters in the bathroom didn't close, and the bedroom became light early as a result.

    Good option for short stay in Limoges

    Pros: Nothing not to like. Looks a bit austere from outside but in everything to a high standard. Nice bed and shower. Short walk to centre.
