About Best Western Hotels & Resorts Brand Hotels

Founded in 1946 by M. K Guertin, Best Western Hotels & Resorts is still one of the top hotels in the globe with over 4,200 hotels in almost 100 countries and other territories across the world. At present, Best Western has acquired World Hotels and is the 14th hotel brand under the hospitality magnate.

Originally founded as a referral system among the hotel members under the brand, Best Western quickly rose and became the largest hotel chain in the market by 1963. Changes continued to further expand the Best Western brand internationally. Originally established as Best Western Hotels, the company dropped the word “motel” in 1974 from its brand name to compete head to head with other full-service hotel lodging chains in the world. Properties in Australia and New Zealand were acquired in 1976 with over 400 properties and thousands of rooms added to the Best Western family.

BY 2005, Best Western averaged $1 million in online hotel reservations, everyday via its website www.bestwestern.com. By 2006, as a complimentary gift to all the years and clients that supported the hotel brand, a special one-night charge of $5.40 was offered to some few lucky guests. The value was the approximate amount charged for a night during the company’s conception.

Very Good
It was okay.

Pros: Family room was more comfortable than the double room, meaning the kids got the best room than my wife and me. We were glad to find Disney channel on TV for the kids' entertainment, which was a relief.
Cons: The building and rooms need some prompt maintenance: A broken glass window right in front of my room gave an impression of an unsafe place.

Disappointing
A lot has to improve. Scenery and architecture are great. However, staff are rude and unprofessional. From my experience

Pros: Looked amazing from the outside. Plenty of free car parking. Local to amenities.
Cons: Upon arrival I was asked to email my proof of ID to their email, and so I didnt hesitate to sent. However, after the check in one of the female colleagues made a very rude remark about my weight- in a language I clearly comprehend, to her surprise she didnt know I knew. So I brushed it off. I entered my room, and the smell of stale cigarette smoke hit me. I asked the male receptionist if I could get some air freshener. He scrunched his face and got me the air freshener and did apologise for the inconvenience caused. The rooms TV didnt work. The room was so hot, even opening the window, didnt bring the temperature done, unfortunately I had to my end there and decided to drive the 2 hours of my remaining journey.

Exceptional
Wonderful place, that I will definitely visit again

Pros: Beautiful place. Great for privacy.
Cons: Should have better sign posts in place to direct you to reception as main entrance leads you to the restaurant reception which was not maned at the time I arrived which left me waiting around for 15 minutes until I walked to the other end of hotel and discovered the hotel reception

Very Poor
Horrible

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Don't bother. When booking on booking.com They advised online I can cancel before midnight without any issue. When I did go and do that they tried to charge me the full amount. I was looking else where to stay after sering the reviews. So I eneded up staying and the esperance was horrible and staff rude. Went to sign the docs on arrival the lady took my ID after taking a scan When giving it back she threw it on the desk which it fell on the floor and didn't apologise. Room I stayed in wasn't as clean and the light only worked by the bed. The shower pipe hose holder was loose coming off the tile . Bathtub wasn't clean the room it self had a funny smell to it. I wouldn't stay again at all.

Very Poor
Not 4 star - Very poor

Pros: Nothing other than location
Cons: Everything. Its definitely not a 4 star hotel, staff at the check in was so tired barely could speak and kept yawning and wasnt welcoming. The room was average but not like it was shown in pictures. No fridge, no water. No ironing despite requesting but they couldnt provide it. Bathroom shower mixer either cold water or very hot water. No rubber mat in the bath and very dangerously slippery. Overall will never go back again. Booked for two night but left after one night.

Poor

Pros: The car park, plenty of it.
Cons: The hotel looks great. All style and no substance. Rain poured through the building, had to set over and around buckets. The hotel toilet was the worst I've seen and I've travelled to Africa. The bedrooms are in disrepair and my key card wouldn't work. Air con in the room does work and the bathroom extractor fan is so noisy I thought it would take off.
