Hotel Bahia Esmiralda is like a piece of Paradise and I will recommend it very highly.

Pros: Breakfast was great with plenty of fresh fruit. The property has wonderful trees and plants and a nice cool pool. The hotel has typical older Costa Rican architecture with the Spanish style clay tyles on the roof, a very comfortable place and the personnel was very helpful and friendly, a place where one feels 'Pura Vida".

Pros: This was my 3rd time in this property. 1st time was in June 2021. They have kept the same level of quality. They really take care of the property. Beautiful property. Breakfast is delicious. Cons: I think the white sheets needed to be better cleaned. We saw a couple of stains. If you need total darkness bring something to cover your eyes. The curtains are good but the sun is very strong.

Pros: Location was right by all the places we wanted to spend time at. accessibility to a lot of restaurants. premises was well maintained.

Cons: no ventilation in the bathroom. the villa did not hv any area for a full-length mirror of dressing area except the bathroom.

Residence-Resort feel. Just right, good price.

Pros: Just what we wanted, quiet, residential feel. Villas were perfect for my family: adults in one studio; kids in a 2br w sofa futon. Rooms were exactly as described. If there was a sofa bed, there was a sofa bed. The pool was nice. Luis the manager attentive & fair. The community has a real authentic feel- beach is a 3 block walk down the street. Best food in this town!! love the bakery about 500 m from the property. Youve got to find it! Actual bagels and jalapeo cheese croissants. Amazing coffee everywhere. Ask housekeepers to do your laundry for $15US a medium-lg bag.

Cons: Rooms had a few Costa Rican ants.

Pros: Staff were very friendly, respectful, and helpful.. There was an excellent choice of three different types of breakfast available. The units are set in beautiful gardens, well maintained . The swimming pool was clean. .our room was cleaned daily. Efficient AC and quiet ceiling fan.

Cons: The location of the complex is, unfortunately, adjacent to a major road, which is very noisy with busses and construction trucks going by already at 6 am. Our room was very tight, there was nowhere to sit but on the bed. There was no safe box to keep documents and other valuables in. There was no bar or cafeteria at the complex to obtain a drink or a snack after breakfast.

Superb

Pros: Lovely set up of rooms/villas in well kept gardens and a nice pool. The little bit of luxury we wanted for the end of our trip. It is near the beach but at a fairly busy junction, the road isn't an issue from the rooms. We could hear howler monkeys every morning. The bed was really big and the bathroom was lovely. I'd recommend paying that little bit extra to have the patio and glass sliding doors. There is a restaurant and 2 small supermarkets within walking distance.

Cons: The breakfast was OK but basic with little choice. You have to tell them in advance if you want to go to the 1st sitting 07:30-08:30 or the second 08:30-09:30. We were going diving at 07:15 and asked if they could do anything earlier, it was a flat no. The area in general is a little odd....feels like it is missing a 'hub'...you really need a car to get around.
