Pros: Location was great- although steep walking in every direction so be prepared for that. We had a spacious room and the staff took care of us well.

Nice hotel overall

Pros: The room is big, air conditioning was working fine. Staff were friendly. Location is easy to find (on foot, not with car) Walking distance to a lot of attractions. They refilled tea bags, bottle water, which is nice.

Cons: It was difficult to reach by car. We booked taxi via booking.com, the drivers had hard time to find the hotel. Besides, we suspected something on the bed, both me and my partner woke up with a few itching red spots, but it could be something else. We shake the bedsheet a few times during our stay. -There was no coffee pod providing, we cannot use the capsule coffee machine in the room.

Pros: The location was wonderful and in such a vibrant area, without being too close to the hustle and bustle that it was disruptive. The decor and finishing a were beautiful, and the bed was huge and very comfy!

Cons: But, the problem with Wi-Fi. It works, but VERY slowly, and not always, actually I had to go out to the street to catch my mobile Internet. We were on the 1st floor, maybe upper it works better.

It was wonderful, we even wanted to return, but they said they where full.

Pros: The Duvet and bed were very comfortable. The location was perfect, just the staff not very friendly when we arrived, it was very earlier, he immediately said we can only book in after 12:00 and it was like 6 in the morning.

Best location for a short trip to Estambul, with original Turkish breakfast & a morning view

Pros: I really liked the hotel, its a small building in a great neighborhood, near a lot of nice restaurants and bars. The staff is super friendly, the breakfast is Turkish and its amazing, very complete, and served in the upstairs terrace. The rooms are spacious and clean, they provide bottled water for you and make a huge effort to speak English and break the language barriers.

Cons: It's not a bad thing, but the location might not be suitable for the elderly, as it is not accesible by all cars. We travelled with a 65+ person that struggled a bit going up and down the stairs to access the hotel, but if you are below 65 or are used to working out, you will be just fine. In fact if you like walking, this location is centric to reach most interest points.

AWESOME hotel!

Pros: We loved our six-night stay, and had a very nicely sized, comfortable room with lots of storage space and a separate little sitting area with plush chairs. The location is excellent, as its just a 100m or so below the Galata Tower, and its about that from one of the main bridges; the Sofia Hagia and surrounding attractions are only a 12-15 minute drive away if the traffic is light. All of the three staff members we met were helpful, warm, and friendly, and they seemingly took turns serving the breakfast, which I enjoyed: coffee/tea, juice, a platter of cheeses, olives, some fruit, jam, butter, etc, a big basket of fresh French bread, and lastly, eggs served however youd like. But the best part? Where its served, which is atop the fifth story rooftop, in a very large glassed-in room with movable panes, and it has an incredible 270 degree view of the water and surrounding areas. The only disappointment was that this beautiful space is so woefully underutilized, as it absolutely would be an amazing spot to enjoy any type of drink during both day and night, but alas, it sits vacant except for breakfast, although you could still go up enjoy the views, and sit at the tables. Wed love to return to this gem again, especially as it costs us less only $70 a night!

Pros: Even though in pictures the hotel looks like not real, it actually is real and its looking the same as in the pictures. Staff is very helpful and friendly, i was in many hotels in Istanbul and theres no staff as the one in Astan hotel. The hotel is a good choice for this value.

Great location and overall a charming spot

Pros: Great location, very close to Galata tower and tram stop in opposite direction, making it easy to explore. The terrace for the views was the highlight.

Cons: There was a few issues with the power in the room but the staff were helpful and the problem was resolved.
