    Pros: Very friendly and professional staff. Comfortable and cosy room.. Amazing service and quality of food - impressive.
    Cons: Room in external lodge- bathrooms need updating looking rather tired. Wish hotels wouldn't tightly tuck in duvet!! You just then have to go around and tuck bottom sheet back in!

    Cons: Scalding hot water from shower. I spent 40 mins in a cold bath/shower after a jet of almost boiling water hit my back. Being offered an ice bucket and ice by staff was not much help. The manager interviewed us afterwards and gave us a refund of 50%. Still waiting for his reply to my email.

    Wonderful

    Very comfortable

    Pros: Lovely old building, very comfortable. Ate in the Bistro and the food was excellent as was the breakfast the next morning. Staff were very professional and friendly.
    Cons: No draft beer - only a minor point, it didnt spoil our stay

    1st time here, staff & food excellent

    Pros: Great welcoming staff, excellent food.
    Cons: Wasn't aware there was an annex separate from the main house . I stayed in the annex, would have preferred the main building.

    A pleasant stay that suited my needs.

    Pros: The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The choice at breakfast time was excellent and the quality of service excellent too.
    Cons: Dont think there was anything the hotel could have done to make improvements.

    Pros: Beautiful location with stunning views. Choice of 2 options for dining and both were excellent in terms of range and quality of dishes. Lovely ambience in both. Staff were very helpful and friendly. And icing on the cake - we saw a red squirrel in the garden.

    Wonderful

    A friendly hotel with good food and comfortable room near A66.

    Pros: The building and grounds look good and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was good. Although the room was in the eves it was comfortable. It is located close to the A66.
    Cons: The website booking for dinner was not clear and we ended up in the Bistro when we thought we had reserved fine dining.
