A great hotel with wonderful staff who can't do enough to help you with absolutely anything you need

Pros: We stayed in the 2-bedroomed beachfront villa and it was outstanding. The whole hotel is like walking within the grounds of an ancient palace. The breakfast every morning was delicious and it was handy that we could WhatsApp our order to the reception rather than completing their form. In fact, the WhatsApp system made our lives very simple. We could not fault any of the staff, they were all lovely and very helpful. Our villa was HUGE and continued with the palace feel - both bedrooms were identical and again HUGE! There were four of us staying and we all had a shower each as there are two in each room. The washing machine came in handy as it meant we weren't packing dirty clothes when we moved on to our next destination. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to EVERYONE at AMMATARA PURA.

Wonderful calm hotel, beachfront, lovely staff, poor location

Pros: Beautiful property, calm and quiet, the staff were superb, especially the staff serving breakfast

Cons: We really didnt like the surrounding area - it was intensely touristy and nothing around apart from western restaurants and (seedy) bars. Its quite hard to get around the island (very expensive taxi rates) so we felt a little stuck in Lamai

Grand, exotic pool villa in a great location with very friendly staff.

Pros: The villa was huge and very well equipped. The kitchen had a washing machine with detergent provided which was very useful. The bed was comfortable and the air con worked really well. We really enjoyed having our own pool. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before but we didn't mind that. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The plants / trees around the grounds of the hotel were delightful and very well looked after.

Pros: + Amazing Villa with huge space, big shower, huge bathtub and own private pool + Very comfortable beds + Very good breakfast + Own kitchen in the villa and washing machine + Nice beach (Lamai Beach) + Good location for excursions

Cons: - In some places it requires maintenance (e.g. mattresses on the beach loungers, calcified rain shower, Equipment in the gym,...)

Felt like true Queens and Kings an incredible place to stay

Pros: The whole resort is incredible and truly spoilt by all the staff. Steve on reception (English) is so knowledgable and a real asset to the rest of the crew. Villas are amazing and very clean. Breakfast is incredible and so worth it.

Pros: Great location, amazing staff with massive rooms with everything you could want. Even managed to wash our clothes before we went home. Cocktails and evening meals are good value. Would definitely come back. Breakfast was outstanding. I prefer A la carte over buffet and it did not disappoint. Try the pancakes and waffles Would definitely come back again.x

Cons: It would be beneficial to update the plug sockets in the rooms with usb sockets. The rain shower and shower head could do with replacing but these are just minor things. Minor things, there is some general maintenance that could be performed, signs of wear and tear on some building features, pool tiles missing and some of the sunbed covers are more worn than others.

Peace and comfort on Lamai

Pros: Lovely location on Lamai beach. Peaceful sunrise walks and a lovely pool area, as well as a nice lap pool of our own for late night night swims. Easy walk to hood restaurants and shops. Fantastic breakfast included and the staff could not be kinder or more accommodating.

Incredible!

Pros: The villa was absolutely out of this world- i loved how traditional it was! location was perfect, and the staff were wonderful! I cant rate this place high enough! I spent my 30th here and partner organised balloons and a cake with the staff- they went above and beyond to fulfil this for him and I cant thank them enough. The staff made our stay extra special and it was so lovely to be greeted by them everyday the service and friendliness here was beautiful. Thank you staff at Ammatura from Mike & Renae!

Pros: Hotel is right by the beach, breakfast is great, service is very friendly and helpful

Cons: Overall the hotel is not well maintained, lacks attention to details (e.g., you can see the pool and room balcony seats are torn apart). There are many mosquitoes in the hotel and they did not even have repellent for the room, which is a small thing that can add to the unpleasant experience (especially while sleeping). We stayed in the villa with private pool - it was beautiful, but again missed on details. We had a massage appointment and the masseuses were late, not a big deal, but again lacks attention to details and even profissionalism. Overall it was okay but much below expectations.

Pros: Beautiful decorative and traditional thai buildings. The room was large and felt grand and comfortable.

Cons: The facilities set a bit run down. The property was quite messy with things falling off the walls and debris and mess around the place that was not cleaned up for the days we were there.

Beautiful hotel, fantastic staff and amazing accommodation

Pros: This is a stunning hotel, everything you would expect from a five star hotel service and facilities , The hotel itself is styled like an authentic Thai palace/Temple which is both peaceful and beautiful, The suite we stayed in was generously sized/huge and styled tastefully internally, outdoor shower and a huge internal bath, fully fitted kitchen area. Outside it had its own 18m2 plunge pool and relaxation area. Quick reliable WiFi and good T. V The breakfast was served at our table from choices we made ala carte the previous day, there was so much food it looked like a banquet presented to us and we hadn't even chosen all the available options to us, The hotel leads directly on to lamai beach so it perfectly located and it's entrance sits just off at the end of the main strip so just a short walk to the multitude of lovely restaurants and fun bars and shops We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a month long trip to Thailand and my wife and I both agreed that this hotel was one of the best hotels we stayed at this trip and will definitely book again if we stay in Lamai in the future
