Pros: The receptionist was very helpful and friendly and helped me find a space for my car. The room was perfectly clean.

Cons: I asked if we could pay to have a coffee and hot water for my tea and not have the breakfast for 8 euros per person because we don't do breakfast. The breakfast lady seemed very unhappy by my request but did it.

Worst room, most uncomfortable bed and a near sleepless night.

Cons: I was extremely disappointed with the room, and staying there ruined my holiday as I barely got any sleep on my last night because of this, undoing 10 days of rest and relaxation. The bed was so hard I was in pain on it and could not sleep - it was like concrete. I had to put the "comforter" or duvet underneath me to help this but it was the thickness of a cheap sanitary towel so did not help. As it was extremely hot (far too hot for sleeping, due to the heating, which was on - but not controllable by me - with the window open when we arrived) in the room when we came in the evening, not having a duvet on top did not matter until it got cooler in the middle of the night (then I had to cover myself with a slightly damp bathrobe, which I had used getting out of the shower - both the robe and the towels were not fluffy but old and worn). The 2 pillows were horrific - just made out of lumps of foam inside rather than a pillow and this is easy for housekeeping staff to feel or see, so something just ignored. To add to the discomfort, the curtain was so thin that light came in from the street all night, a gap under the door caused light to come in from the hall (we had to put the other bathrobe here to block this), and the windows when shut were not effective at blocking traffic noise which continued all night. The room overlooked on of the roads by the river that look calm on a map but are part of Bucharest's one way system into the city centre - urgh - and would require appropriate glazing to dull the noise that continues all night. But the bed was the most horrific as well as the room, as no amount of eye masks or ear plugs can help you be comfortable enough to sleep. Having a bed you can sleep in is the critical thing for a hotel room. This room was definitely not the expected standard or worthy of even one star. I would have demanded to change rooms in the night when I became aware of this, but my son was asleep.
