Hotel Alpenruhe was wonderful in every way.

Pros: This hotel has the best view in Wengen. Though the uphill walk might be a bit of a challenge for older folks, it didn't prove to be a problem for us. Andreas and Jana were VERY kind and personal, the service was attentive and proactive, and they were willing to go the extra mile to assist us with various needs. They offered my wife a ride up the hill after a long day hike, and they packed us a lunch the day we left, unasked for! The breakfast was sumptuous. Make sure and ask for their scrambled eggs!! Custom coffee orders are also welcomed.

Cons: My only suggestion would be to make sure people know what breakfast services are offered. It took us a day or two to figure out we could ask for a latte or cappuccino, or some scrambled eggs. Not a major problem, just a helpful suggestion.

Pros: Excellent mountain/village views. Staff were all attentive, very friendly and very helpful. Excellent breakfast.

Cons: The bathroom and shower were much smaller than were used to, but still manageable .

Pros: The view was amazing as was breakfast. They accommodated my gluten and dairy free needs. We were very pleased with our stay.

Cons: It was an uphill hike from the station for sure. We knew it. I could have and should have arranged for a pick up but we went up the hill with our luggage in the rain.

Pros: Beautiful wengen, beautiful people, beautiful hotel. It is true that people sometimes make or break your vacation. It was a magical stay for us. Warm staff, especially Yana who made sure we were comfortable. Unfortunately could not meet her as it was her weekly off when we checked out. We were staying for two days. Good things 1. Amazing breakfast spread. Simply the best that we had on our entire trip to Switzerland. 2. Warm friendly staff, always smiling puts you at ease ( unlike the most of our stays in Switzerland) 3. Pick up arranged from station to hotel which can be a huge relief with luggage n all. They even agreed to drop us 4. Small welcome chocolates in our room 5. Room was small, but cozy and very comfortable, ergonomically designed space. 6. Even the view from property is amazing but when we were there towards last week of September, the clouds and fog was there in all of the Wengen area so couldn't appreciate it fully. 7. Staff is not averse to any special requests ( again and exception to most of our other stays) 8. Small balcony in the room to get some fresh air ( no mountain View, but that's what we booked and hotel informed in advance about the same) We loved it and fell in love with the place.

Cons: Potentially the only 1 improvement I can think of 1. If they can offer a kettle in the room or some sort of microwave facility to the guests in future it would be helpful as the hotel doesn't have in house restaurant, so on days when you are tired from sightseeing, guests could heat up little meals.. That would be a huge advantage. But it's only a suggestion. Though the hotel did make a recommendation of a nearby Italian hotel which was again simply amazing ( goes by name of Da Sina)

Pros: Beautifully clean, wonderful location and overlooking the valley . Small hotel feel about it - nothing too precious ,the breakfast was so good and the staff very kind. Would love to return another time for a week to the hotel to enjoy the surrounding area. Thank you Hotel Alpenruhe!

Great stay, beautiful hotel, and true to its name - you really feel the peace of the Alps here!

Pros: This is such a lovely, peaceful hotel with probably one of the best Jungfrau views in Wengen. It is way more quieter than the other hotels in town, and everything was just perfect!

Cons: For dinner options, the hotel doesnt currently run its in-house restaurant (only breakfast) but plenty of nearby options in Wengen so no issue at all!

The Alpenrurh is an outstanding hotel in a beautiful village.

Pros: Everything. A large comfortable corner room with a balcony, friendly staff, a wonderful breakfast every morning, a great location. We didnt have a room with a Jungfrau view (we didnt reserve one of those) so walk ten meters out the front door, sit down in one of the lawn chairs and enjoy a grand view of the Lauterbrunnen valley and the Jungfrau above it. Wengen is conveniently located for exploring the Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald regions.

Cons: Its a bit of an uphill walk from the train station, but well worth it for the location. And the hotel provides a ride for you and your luggage when you arrive and when you leave.

Visually wonderful, emotionally catastrophic,

Pros: Bloody fantastic mate! I should have written earlier to thank you for the wonderful hospitality. I was making my first trip without my wife of 49 years and I needed solace and peace in the wonderful Swiss mountains which we loved so much.

Cons: Can't think of anything. As an old train driver got to ride with Rolf to Kleine Scheindegg, born on a farm loved being licked by the cows (you should see my Facebook photo!) left a bit of my wife to enjoy the mountains forever - nothing I didn't like!

Cozy vintage hotel to discover Jaungfrau Region with fantastic views.

Pros: Very cozy hotel and perfect for a couple's weekend get away. Morning breakfast was lovely (and they had oat milk options for coffee). We really enjoyed having a glass of wine on the terrace and enjoying the mountain view. We liked that the hotel was a bit outside the super touristy part of town (an 8-10 minute walk to the train station).

Cons: The arrangement around the bed was a bit uncomfortable. There is a small cubby provided in the builtin wardrobe which is supposed to act as a side table. I use a medical device which has to be kept next to me when sleeping. That cubby was barely enough to hold the device.
