Winthrop, Arkansas: Discovering the Sleepy Town in Southwestern Arkansas
Tucked away in the northwestern section of Little River County, Winthrop, Arkansas is a city with just less than 200 residents as of the 2010 survey. It is roughly seven miles away from the Oklahoma border and 20 miles from the county seat, Ashdown.
Best Time to Visit
Excluding the hot summer weeks and cold winter weeks, Winthrop, Arkansas experiences generally pleasant weather throughout the year. Early April to late May is ideally the best time to book your Winthrop hotels, as the temperature during the spring season is nicer and warmer, compared to the previous months. However, tourists are likely to visit the town at this time, as well.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Winthrop is the ideal place to be if you’re planning on exploring the great outdoors of Arkansas. A few minutes’ drive from the town is the Trailhead Park and Tapp Park, both of which will give you a good perspective of the town’s natural beauty. Americas Best Value Inn New Boston is located within a 20 to 40-minute walk from both attractions, making it more convenient for you. Another recommended hotel in the area is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites New Boston. This is an excellent option for traveling families and friends, as their rooms are spacious enough. The Relax Inn is also a nice option to stay when you are in Winthrop.
