Springville: Laid-Back Countryside
In Susquehanna County, there is an unincorporated community called Springville, Pennsylvania. It is just off the route of a major interstate and is a short drive from Montrose, a borough. It was established in the year 1814 and has a long, well-established history since then. The town is a sleepy community having only around 1700 residents. Surrounded by natural beauty such as lakes and forests, Springville is a countryside getaway you will never forget.
Best Time to Visit
Springville, Pennsylvania is dominantly hot throughout the entire year. It is the hottest during the middle of the year when it is also, ironically, the wettest months of the year. These are the months from June to August. To fully enjoy your trip in town without having to worry about rain, overcrowding of tourists, or expensive Springville hotels – the most recommended time to visit is between March and April. Though every February, the Winter Happiness Festival is celebrated by the locals.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Boasting of an outdoor swimming pool and a gorgeous scenery is the classy yet affordable Shadowbrook Resort. A beer festival is held in the property every February so you can watch out for that. On the other hand, there is also the contemporary Hampton Inn Tunkhannock which also has a swimming pool but indoor. A river nearby Springville is one of the top destinations in town. It is where you can rent boats, kayaks, or canoes to go around the said river. Chamberlain Canoes handle water-based activities within the river. Farmlands such as Russell Farms and Brookvalley Farms are also popular attractions. There are small petting zoos on both properties and they are famous wedding venues as well.
