Saarbrücken Airport – SCN Saarbrücken
Serving the capital and the largest city in the state of Saarland in Germany, Saarbrücken Airport is located in Saarbrücken. It is also called Flughafen Saarbrücken or Ensheim Airport in German. The airport offers flights to the major cities in Germany and also to some leisure routes. Saarbrücken Airport was one of the 17 airports in Germany to offer international flights to passengers in 1972. The year 2005 made a record of the airport for serving nearly 500,000 passengers. The airport had a decrease in passenger traffic during the rise of a new airport just 25 miles away. But then after a few months, the new airport had financial difficulties resulting in some airlines transferring to Saarbrücken Airport. In the summer of 2015, the airport’s passenger traffic has increased compared to the previous seasons.
