John Glenn Columbus International Airport is formerly named Port Columbus International Airport. Its airport code CMH refers to Columbus Municipal Hangar which was the airport’s original name. CMH-Columbus serves an average of tens of thousands daily and 7.6 million passengers yearly. It is also central Ohio’s largest passenger airport and the state’s second-busiest next to Cleveland Hopkins International airport.

In 2016, John Glenn Columbus International Airport was named after U.S. senator and astronaut John Glenn. With a budget of $80 million, CMH-Columbus went through a major renovation. After its completion in 2017, Columbus Airport was declared as North America’s most improved airport in 2016 by the Airports Council International.

It also serves as the major airport for towns surrounding Columbus, Ohio including Delaware, Powell, and Dublin to name a few. There is only one terminal in Columbus airport and three airport concourses.
