The history of Merced Regional Airport goes all the way back to 1932 when the Merced City Council accepted a gift from the Twenty-Thirty Club and Crocker-Huffman Company. It was a title to an airport site. The airport was dedicated on April 3, 1932 and would be leased to George Voight. On March 2009, the name Merced Municipal Airport was voted by city council to be changed to its current name, Merced Regional Airport. The current airport occupies 766 acres of land and features one asphalt runway. It is also an uncontrolled airport and has no control tower. Boutique Air is currently operating passenger service on the airport under the EAS program.
