About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

 

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

 

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

    Pros: Staff amazing! This is our third time being here. Our guest from Canada was very pleased with the Breakfast and said it was very good. My husband missed it and staff went and looked for bagels and fresh fruit for him. Who does that! The little extras impress me !!! Definitely will be back again

    If you need to stay...

    Pros: Checkin and out was smooth. Location was fine
    Cons: Rooms, and facility in general are beat up. Bathroom tub is low quality, bathroom doors are closet doors. Carpeting felt like it had been laid over prior carpet in spots. Breakfast option was limited to non existent. Everything very data with chipping paint and lack of maintenance.

    Cons: Good Afternoon my experience was very poor this is the second time that I use this hotel for my stay. This visit was not so good. It was expensive for the type of room accommodations. When you take a shower the tub flows up while you are showering, The first night that I stayed I showered with one tower and the next day the towel was not replaced by the attend it was placed back in the rack as if was new. I noticed it because it was wet. On the second night I experienced bug bites while sleeping, I woke up at 4am and compliant to the front desk and the clerk assigned me another room, for the rest of the days I was felt very uncomfortable afraid of the bugs that might be from the dogs that stay in that hotel. The first room was 408 it didn't have microwave or refrigerator. The second room was 505. I also had a small incident were I cut my finger and I went to the front desk and I asked the clerk if they had a first aid kit and it was not available. I was provided with a couple of bandages which I was able to use. I feel that for the amount of money that I spend in that hotel they could of at least had a first aid kit for emergencies. Your morning breakfast attend female was not to friendly,

    Cons: It was dirty, the room was filthy and many things didn’t work like the refrigerator and phone. I talked to front desk but they said there was nothing they could do
