Grupo Habita is a boutique hotel developer and operator from Mexico which was founded by Moises Micha and Carlos Couturier in 1994. The first hotel of Grupo Habita, the Hotel Habita, was opened in 2000 in Mexico City. It then continued to grow over the years as it established more hotels in all over Mexico. Currently, they have 13 hotels located in various parts of Mexico. They have also upward expanded to the United States after stabilizing growth in Mexico. It is noted that their hotel called Downtown is one of their most famous and acclaimed properties in Mexico. 

Deseo, one of their coastal hotels is also considered to be trendsetter as it portrayed an important part in bring in tourist to Playa del Carmen in Mexico. Later on, Grupo Habita established their first and largest hotel in the US, boasting of 56 rooms. This was in 2011, and they named it as Hotel Americano which is located in Manhattan, New York. 

Grupo Habita Hotels are more popular with younger travelers as their accommodation caters the need of this age group. In 2016, Grupo Habita showed an interest in opening in Hudson Valley as unique community with vibrant art and nightlife is emerging. More so, Grupo Habita continues to expand both in Mexico and United States of America.
