About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

Pros: Bathrooms sketchy - shower didn't work easily, light difficult to turn on, door handle falling off, shower mat/lining loose Outdoors - not clean, litter Dog areas - seemed clean & picked up Elevators - homeless man sleeping inside

Pros: I liked breakfast.

Cons: Customer service at front desk was lacking. I didn't like that the first room they gave us was not only dirty but it took the attendant about 10 minutes to come up to the room to "verify" the condition of the room. He then started to peep into neighboring rooms. Once we were let into a room the TV wasn't working and that took another 20-30 minutes to take care of. We were lucky there was "Applebee's" open late and in close proximity. Several times throughout the night we had people trying to open our door. Not sure why? It was an unsettling stay to say the least.

Overall, our stay here was...

Pros: The room was a nice size, plenty of room to lay our suitcases out. The bathroom had a lot of counter to lay out toiletries. The room was comfortable and clean.

Cons: The configuration of the food service was not good. The food was spread out in a line in a hallway. It would work fine if only one person is getting their food; but when there were 4 other people getting their breakfast with me, we were bumping into each other or waiting for a person to move. It made it take a long, frustrating time to get to eat.

Pros: Close to I-25. Several restaurants within walking distance. Bed was comfortable.

Cons: No wifi at all. Hotel is dated. All rooms are entered through outside doors. Bathroom shower was marginal, at best. Sprayed water over the shower curtain.

Cons: Had to go early. 2 families traveling together tied up the tables and then stayed longer and just talked while people waiting to use tables. Annoying teenagers,mostly using cell phones. Parents were not help either to be considerate about other people waiting.

Pros: Staff helped when first room given had a huge machine in the bathroom and what looked like blood in the bathtub. We were moved rooms.

Cons: WiFi was down. First room given had large machine in bathroom and blood in bathtub. Had to request a different room. Place looked run down.
