About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

 

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

 

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

    Pros: The staff seem friendly
    Cons: The room was old and dirty, stains all over the carpet. The furniture was covered in syrup of some type (house keeping does not clean at all). Not enough towels for a 2 bed room if people need to shower and dry(once again bad service from housekeeping) their breakfast equipment didn't seem to work properly which is a huge rating factor for me. I'm surprised this is a La quinta hotel.

    Pros: I was not impressed with anything at the facility.
    Cons: . As soon as we walked into the lobby you could smell an awful sour smell.the room was filthy the tv didn't work at all and the bathroom was filthy. The room smelled like cigarettes and the air-conditioning did not work properly. The pictures on the website must have been from a different facility because it looked nothing like what I reviewed on the website . I don't think I will stay at another laquinta facility again

    Cons: Bathroom light had a short in it , had to flick it twenty times to get it to stay on. Low water pressure in sink . Bathroom could use better lighting.

    Dirty, loud, and not good value for the price

    Pros: Only took coffee which was ok.
    Cons: It needed cleaning. And the staff could have done a better job at controlling the noise level from other guests after hours. It was extremely loud from 3-5am.

    Pros: Really quiet for the amount of people staying there. Friendly staff with clean rooms
    Cons: The free continental breakfast was a joke. Juice machine was always empty. Had to ask for hot breakfast. Eggs and a couple pieces of sandwich ham most days. Definitely leaves a lot to ask for. Stopped at gas stations for breakfast

    Stay away from this hotel!

    Pros: Convenient location.
    Cons: Room was in decent condition, however the bathroom light was not working properly. Gym was not available. The staff is not friendly, of course same person works in the front desk and serving breakfast as well (not an easy job in my opinion). Regarding breakfast, there is not buffet available, instead the receptionist serves breakfast.

    Very Poor

    Will never make reservations at the hotel in the future!

    Pros: Location was good.
    Cons: Did not accommodate my reservation request. Requested king suite.... only thing available was 2 double... was not contacted by hotel in reference to availability! Left hotel and stayed at Holiday Inn!!! Waited for 5 - 10 minutes at front desk before anyone showed up..... she said that she was dealing with her child!

    It was a nice stay

    Pros: Breakfast was great the ladies got what we needed Charnel Tonya charistian and Corey at the front desk area were very nice and so professional Michelle cleaned our room very nicely on our 13 day stay

    False advertisement

    Pros: I love the new shampoo and conditioner they now have. The ac worked amazingly and the hotel was clean
    Cons: They didnt have much for breakfast. We booked the room mainly because they served breakfast. The beds are very uncomfortable and pillows are very old and worn out.
