About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

 

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

 

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

    Pros: Good location and the price was OK.
    Cons: This hotel is getting tired. The pillows smelled bad. Not sure what it was, but a little like B.O. Not a great experience.

    Cons: The side entrance was very dirty, elevator and the room bathroom. The staff were kind of rude.

    Cons: My room smelled STRONG of cat urine. This is the second time I stayed at this hotel and the room was embarrassingly smelly. Ill never stay here again.

    Breskfast horrible

    Cons: The advertised hot free breakfast was a sham! No hot eggs, only cold hard boiled. No fruit, not even a banana! No yogurt! Only a few slices of white bread no bagels, wheat bread or English muffins. No other kind of muffins. We only stayed one night but other guests told us it was like that all week. Never staying at a Laquinta again!

    Pros: Hotel upkeep showed pride in their product. I love the room setup with cabinet holding refrigerator and microwave. Nice quality towels and toilet paper in the bathroom. The recliner was over the top comfortable. I will look at renting again.

    With the issues I just stated above I was not satisfied with the price.

    Pros: Location, breakfast, clean bathroom, clean sheets, clean laundry.
    Cons: Old and need of remodeling. Not enough dollies for luggage. The carpet in the lobby needs steam cleaned or replaced. The lobby restrooms needed hand towels replenished. Men and womens. The drop ceiling in the mens lobby restroom was missing tiles.

    Cons: Accessible room did not have walk-in shower as shown in online photos. No luggage carts to be found when we were leaving. We asked staff to help us locate one. They did not. Check in was long. Carpets were stained. Breakfast was very minimal. Lobby dark

    Pros: Front desk are friendly
    Cons: When I checked in my keys wasnt working I had to go down 3 times. The following day same thing happened so the clerk sent a housekeeping to check she figured out that the lockers battery was down. Talked to the manager she said she couldnt do anything cuz she doesnt know when the battery gonna go down. I missed my 10:15 meeting because of this plus the quality of breakfast is poor, one day there was no coffee. Hotel doesnt have good energy.
