About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

 

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

 

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

    Very Poor

    I will never be back...

    Pros: It was disgusting the buffet last till 10:00 but at 9 everything was gone and the place was trashed
    Cons: Everything the whole thing was a joke

    It would have been better...

    Pros: The halls actually smelled good and the parking lot felt safe. The location was pleasant and close to food and other activities. The room was quiet and the air conditioning was working well.
    Cons: The room was messy but not at first glance. While eating dinner we noticed blood (or something that looked like it on the wall). When I got in the shower there was something that felt like sand all over the tub. There was lipstick on the table where we ate. The second bed felt broken as it was lower on one side. On check out I told the staff and their response was "oh OK I'll keep that in mind" I was hoping for more of a reaction or some thing but I got nothing.

    Pros: Beds were comfy.
    Cons: Dirty washcloths left hanging over the bathroom door. I could see how it might be missed by housekeeping, it was odd that it was tlup there.

    Decent price. Convenient location for...

    Pros: Location was fine. They were out of coffe and didnt make any more until O pointed out that the thermos' were both empty. Had to wait. The bteakfast bar was out of yogurt and other items. Not up to par.
    Cons: Seemed like you were trying to cut back or save money.

    Pros: All great. My room was a handicap room #200 which is what I requested and right by the elevator which was perfect due to my leg pain. Hope I can get that room next time I come up to visit my daughter who lives in Ft.Worth. Happy Easter.

    Disappointing

    Won't be staying here again.

    Pros: only the location
    Cons: the room smelled like damp carpet. It very noisy. Most all the room doors had huge gaps under the doors where you could see the light coming from the inside of the room into the hall. The breakfast was pitiful. Never enough eggs & usually they were cold. The bed creaked and was worn out.

    If you can’t find anywhere...

    Pros: Smelt clean as soon as we walked in
    Cons: Not so friendly staff, room was dirty upon walking in. Breakfast wasn’t great. A elevator on an upper floor had a sign that said out of order but the elevator door on the 1st floor did not have a sign. So we used the elevator and noticed it felt weird and broken. Once we exited we saw the sign that said out of order!!

    Never again. I’ll just pay...

    Pros: Proximity to retail
    Cons: I didn’t like the fact I was supposed to get a “quadruple room” as advertised in my confirmation email from booking.com and when we arrived, we only got one room. Then was told by the front desk it would still be the same price and that booking.com was in the wrong for quadruple room vs single room with two double beds. Then I got charged my $50 deposit, even after being assured by the front desk that I wouldn’t be charged it, and my receipt even showed the $50 refund. Only one dim light around the mirror in the bathroom worked, there were only two towels for 4 people reservation, the shower leaked all night, The breakfast was not appealing at all, coffee station had only equal for sweetener and had a complete mess around it.
