About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

 

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

 

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States.     Pros: The location worked for what we needed. The staff seemed crabbu. The first lady at checkout out seemed like she only wanted to be on her phone and we were interrupting her. Room was good.

    Very disappointed.

    Pros: I liked the location. Close to a lot of places in Charleston.
    Cons: When inside the room, we could hear everything coming from outside. Doors were paper-thin and there was about a one inch gap at the bottom of the door that let all the noises through. Also, we were not traveling with another party, but was placed in a room that joined another. Once again, door was thin and no soundproofing in or around the door. People in the adjoining room were loud and stayed up well past midnight. Also, bed was not comfortable. We could feel the prings. The comforter was very thin and there were no extra blanket in the room, or in housekeeping, because I checked at the front desk. We were given some extra sheets. Overall, about a 1 out of 5.

    Pros: The location was great and the near by restaurant was excellent
    Cons: The room was not swept well and there was a serious water drainage issue. It looked like they were remodeling rooms so to be fair ours was in that location. We had to walk to another building to get out breakfast and at 70 not happy. Not coming back.

    Wonderful

    Pros: The location was great. I also was pleased with the state of the rooms given that it is an older hotel. Staff was friendly when checking in and out.
    Cons: Overall, the breakfast was sufficient, but the food was fairly bland. That is really the only downside I could think of.

    Pros: Convenience to downtown Charleston SC.
    Cons: In reviewing the property online, it stated refrigerators in all rooms. Upon arrival the agent informed us refrigerators were for double deluxe rooms only. The diabetic medication was left in a fridge in the employee’s lounge and had to be requested each time it was needed. We had to request face cloths and towels twice. The room was not cleaned once. There was a sewing needle on the bathroom floor. The breakfast selection was horrible.

    Go plave to sleep not...

    Pros: Check in was fast ro was ok
    Cons: Pool.was closed and not adviced until we arrived. We got at room im the back of hotel and the trash area was overflowing . Step reels were damaged , they was people roaming the hallway i seem like there was homeless people there as there was alot of clothes bag and tote my the stairs

    Location nice…amenities so-so…staff friendly…probably recommend.

    Pros: Only told breakfast was included…didn’t mention hours…missed it by 5 min Mon…didn’t miss rest of the week. Food (scrambled eggs/sausage were ok…coffee was not hot…otherwise ok,
    Cons: 1st day sink was plugged up…told they’d give a discount…2nd day toilet wouldn’t flush…took maintenance hour to repair…phone in room had no cord for all 6 days there…informed front desk every day…never fixed…would have enjoyed view but couldn’t see thru window or tree blocking window…A/C worked sporadically…had a great time, tho.
