About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

I cut it short, vehicles...

Pros: The location is right on the highway so so much noise also the noise prom the parking lot as the rooms are at ground level was awful

Pros: THe staff was fabulous.

Cons: The room with the King bedroom, Room 112 had a very strange smell. It did not go away with the air conditioning. person in the next room said that the room they were in had the same smell. They said it smelled like someone was smoking a "joint". I do not know what it was but not pleasent.

Great stay for the price.

Pros: Location was easy to get to. Staff was very friendly. Beds comfy. Good breakfast. Food was hot.

Cons: Older building with no elevators. Not a problem for us. Just be aware. Toilet and bath area needed a deep cleaning. Not a fan of three square bed pillows. Prefer two standard size.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and the location was fine.

Cons: It seemed to be false advertising. The listing included amenities such as indoor and outdoor pool. there was only one pool (outdoor) and it was covered, locked-up, and out of commission for quite some time. The WiFi rarely worked and was super slow.

All in all we had...

Pros: Breakfast was very nice, food was fresh and tasty. The Texas shaped waffle was adorable and yummy. All staff were friendly, welcoming and eager to help. Our room was clean and attractive. Lumpy mattress but otherwise the room was great. Great water pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water.

Cons: Just the mattress. It was quite soft and had long dips on each side.
